SNSF Research Council: six new members elected
The Executive Committee of the SNSF Foundation Council elected six new research councillors.
The following six researchers have been elected as new members of the SNSF Research Council:
Humanities and Social Sciences division
- Laura Bernardi, University of Lausanne, for sociology/social research (takes up office on 1 January 2018)
- Konrad Schmid, University of Zurich, for theology/religious studies (takes up office on 1 October 2017)
They replace the outgoing members Eric Widmer (sociology) and Silvia Schroer (theology/religious studies).
Biology and Medicine division
- Bart Deplancke, EPFL, for molecular pathophysiology (takes up office on 1 October 2017)
- Fritjof Helmchen, University of Zurich, for neurophysiology (takes up office on 1 April 2018)
- Christoph Hess, University Hospital Basel, as clinician for infectious diseases and immunology (takes up office on 1 April 2018)
- Anne Angelillo-Scherrer, University Hospital Bern, as clinician for experimental and translational medicine (takes up office on 1 April 2018)
They replace the outgoing members Christian Lüscher (neurophysiology), Huldrych F. Günthard (clinician - immunology) and Markus H. Heim (clinician – regenerative medicine). The profile for "molecular pathophysiology" has been redefined.
