65 years spent in the pursuit of innovation
The SNSF is contributing to rapid progress in the biotech sector. SNSF-funded projects are continually generating innovative and applicable results.
Since 1952, the SNSF has funded research in all scientific disciplines, and many of its schemes are tailored to promoting innovation, such as the National Centres of Competence in Research (NCCRs), the National Research Programmes (NRPs) and the BRIDGE programme, which was launched in 2017. The SNSF also contributes to the annual report of the Swiss Biotech Association. This year, an infographic presents the schemes that specifically promote the transfer of biotechnical research results into practice. In 2017, Andreas Wagner, evolutionary biologist funded by the SNSF, explained why complexity helps to find new solutions.
