The SNSF and the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) are launching another call for Joint Research Projects at the beginning of January 2025, this time in the quantum domain (including quantum ethics).

As part of the Swiss government's bilateral programmes, in early January 2025 the SNSF and the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) are launching a call for Joint Research Projects (JRPs) in the quantum domain. JRPs allow researchers in Switzerland to carry out a collaborative research project with a partner in South Korea.

The following topics are addressed in the call:

  • Quantum computing/simulation
  • Quantum communications and networks
  • Quantum sensing/measurement
  • Fundamentals of quantum information science and technology
  • Quantum ethics

The call will be open for about two months. Around ten projects with a duration of four years can be financed. The maximum budget for the Swiss side is 800,000 francs per project. Interested researchers are invited to contact researchers in South Korea now in order to plan a joint application. Further information will be added to our web page (see below) when the call opens at the beginning of January 2025.
