BRIDGE enables the implementation of research results
Since 2017, BRIDGE has been facilitating the implementation of research results in society and/or on the market. BRIDGE is the joint programme of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and Innosuisse, the Swiss Innovation Agency. The external evaluation of the programme in its pilot phase from 2017 to 2020 confirms the importance of the funding scheme for the strategic cooperation between Innosuisse and the SNSF. BRIDGE closes an existing gap between basic research and science-based innovation. However, the results of the evaluation - carried out by econcept in cooperation with the Austrian Institute for Technology (AIT) - also show a need for optimisation, for example in reaching all target groups. The recommendations of the evaluation team are now incorporated into the further development of the programme. Some of them have already been implemented in the current funding period.
