Nearly 50 applications submitted for Ambizione Energy and AP Energy Grants
Responding to the second call for proposals, 30 young researchers submitted an application for an Ambizione Energy Grant. A further 17 researchers applied for an Assistant Professor (AP) Energy Grant.
The response to the second call for proposals for the schemes designed to promote young energy researchers has been similar to the year before (2013: 29 applications for an Ambizione Energy Grant and 15 applications for an AP Energy Grant).
Of the applications for an Ambizione Energy Grant, 59% came from the ETH Domain (EPFL, ETHZ, PSI), 34% from the universities and 7% from the universities of applied sciences. 65% of the projects are linked to a Competence Center for Energy Research (SCCER).
Of the applications for an AP Energy Grant, 41% came from the ETH Domain, 18% from the universities and 41% from the universities of applied sciences. 82% of the projects are linked to a Competence Center for Energy Research (SCCER).
The SNSF will finish evaluating the proposals by May 2015. Researchers whose proposal have been approved will be able to start their projects on 1 June 2015 at the earliest.
