ERA-NET HERA "Public Spaces"
The ERA-NET HERA has launched a call for proposals for the Joint Research Programme "Public Spaces: Culture and Integration in Europe". Consortia involving at least four partner countries are eligible to participate.
The ERA-NET HERA has launched the Joint Research Programme "Public Spaces: Culture and Integration in Europe" (HERA JRP PS). The JRP will analyse the concept of public spaces from different perspectives. The focus will lie on structures and processes, as well as on questions concerning integration, exclusion, fragmentation, hybridisation and transmission.
Each consortium must comprise at least four applicants from four different HERA partner countries. An independent international review panel will evaluate the proposals in a two-step evaluation process. The projects, which will run for up to 36 months, are expected to start in spring 2019.
Researchers from the following 24 countries who are involved in the ERA-NET HERA (Humanities in the European Research Area) are eligible to participate in the call: Austria, Belgium (Wallonia), Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and the United Kingdom. Applicants from Switzerland must meet the participation requirements of the SNSF for the project funding scheme.
Humanities across national borders
The ERA-NET HERA promotes transnational research in the humanities in an effort to enhance their profile at national and European level. With its participation as a partner in HERA, the SNSF is taking part in a broad-based Joint Research Programme for the second time.
The Public Spaces call is co-funded by the European Commission. A total amount of EUR 20 million is available for the call, with individual projects being able to draw up to EUR 1 million.
