SCOPES 2013-2016: second call
The SCOPES programme boosts scientific co-operation between research groups and institutions in Switzerland and in Eastern Europe. A second call is currently open for the following funding schemes: Conference Grants, Institutional Partnerships, Preparatory Grants and Valorisation Grants.
Institutional partnerships (IP) contribute to the development and modernisation of institutional aspects of research and teaching in Eastern Europe and the CIS. IPs do not involve any research projects. There are no specific thematic requirements. However, the partnerships must show potential for application and development possibilities (capacity building) for the Eastern European partner(s).
There are two categories for partner countries: a first group including countries in the Western Balkans, South Caucasus and Central Asia as well as Moldova and the Ukraine and a second group including Eastern European EU members as well as Croatia and Russia. Bilateral projects are only possible with partners in the first group. Tri- and multilateral partnerships can be launched with countries from both categories, whereby at least half of the Eastern partners must be from the first category.
Applicants can submit their proposal to the SNSF by 15 November 2014 at the latest. A total amount of CHF 4.7 million is available for the Institutional Partnerships. The SCOPES programme is financed by the SNSF and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
