A study has shown: with their research funding, the SNSF and Innosuisse facilitate the founding of start-ups. Many business ideas originate at higher education institutions and other research centres. This benefits society as a whole.
Start-up companies make use of fundamental research findings and develop new technical applications. This makes them an important driver of innovation. To what extent does research funding contribute to the creation of such start-ups in Switzerland? Together with Innosuisse, the SNSF commissioned a study to find out.
