The SNSF makes data on its research funding publicly available. Here’s how you can use these data to calculate useful figures easily and quickly.

The SNSF offers various data sets on its Data Portal that provide detailed information on funded projects, outputs and the people involved.

In a series of data stories, we will show how you can use these data, by employing R programming language to do analyses. In the first article we explain how to:

  • download data from SNSF-funded projects
  • calculate annual figures
  • determine the amount of funding by discipline
  • calculate grants by research domain and institution.
