Spark: call for proposals
The Spark funding scheme supports promising, novel and unconventional research projects in all disciplines.
Spark enables researchers to test or develop novel and unconventional scientific approaches, methods, theories, standards and ideas within a short time. Preliminary data do not necessarily need to be available.
Spark is aimed at researchers in all disciplines who have a doctorate or an equivalent qualification.
To ensure that the evaluation is focused entirely on the project idea and not the person, the proposals are assessed in a double-blind procedure, i.e. the applicant and the evaluators do not know each other’s identity. For the submission, please consult the latest version of the Spark Regulations of 6 December 2023, in which minor clarifications were made to Article 6 paragraph 4 regarding anonymisation.
Applicants can request grants of between CHF 50,000 and 100,000 for a project duration of 6 to 12 months. Approved projects must start within 6 months after the funding decision.
