Solution-oriented Research for Development (SOR4D) programme
The SOR4D programme invites researchers and development actors from policy and practice to collaborate in transnational and transdisciplinary consortia.
The SNSF and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) are launching the new Solution-oriented Research for Development (SOR4D) programme. New insights and innovative approaches are needed to reduce poverty and to implement the 2030 Agenda in developing countries. Joint efforts by international transdisciplinary research partnerships can make a difference.
The SOR4D programme is open to all disciplines from the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, health and life sciences. Proposals must explicitly aim at systemic solutions that simultaneously address several of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
A total budget of CHF 19 million is available for the SOR4D programme. The research phase will last three years, followed by an additional year for pilot testing and scaling out of initiatives to accelerate transformation. Projects will be selected in a two-stage process. Pre-proposals must be submitted by 2 May 2022, 17:00 (Swiss local time) via the mySNF platform.
